Installing Android Studio

Setting up the android development environment is probably the most challenging part. It takes times - from 30 minutes to n hours to forever - depending on your internet speed, your programming knowledge, and your PC. You probably need a fairly decent PC (with 8GB RAM) and 10GB of free disk space to run the Android emulator. Running on "actual" Android phone/tablet requires much lesser resources.

Android Studio is Google's officially supported IDE for developing Android apps. This IDE is based on IntelliJ IDEA, which offers a powerful code editor and developer tools.

Before installing Android Studio you must have JDK installed. JDK is Java Development Kit. The minimum JDK version should be 8, download and install it from the link provided below.

Download the latest version of Android Studio for your suitable OS from https://developer.android.com/studio and install it.
